Winter to Spring Flooding in Amherst, NY

With the recent snow melt, rain, and wind, it is more than possible for you to experience flooding due to the weather. Sump pump systems can fail, leading to basement flooding and causing plenty of damage during heavy rains. Make sure all drains are clear or debris and dirt. If your drains back up it can cause a nasty sewage disaster in your basement which can be very overwhelming for you to clean. Sewers drain water is classified as cat 3 water containing significant levels of bacteria. You always want to make sure any items you have are at least 3 feet from any drains in the basement.
